Deoria, 04 October 2025 — Heavy rainfall, continuously occurring in the district for the past 24 hours, has completely disrupted the daily lives of people. Waterlogging occurred in various places across urban and rural areas, leading to flooded roads and blocked several routes.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Piyush Sharma was electrocuted in Bhurli Mohalla of Salampur Tehsil, resulting in his death. The local administration has sent the body for post-mortem. Due to the rain, trees have also fallen in several areas — a large tree falling on the Musaila-Maghra road has blocked the route. With fields inundated, there is a serious threat of damage to the paddy crop.
Furthermore, power outages have also become common — complaints of power cuts are being received from Deoria, Salampur, and other areas. Electronic devices have also been damaged due to water entering homes. The District Magistrate has cautioned citizens to exercise caution when stepping out. He has instructed officials to accelerate relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
