IMD Forecasts Rain and Changing Weather Across Delhi, UP, Bihar, Maharashtra & More

The weather is set to change in Delhi, UP, Bihar, and several other states amidst humid heat and the retreating monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for rain and light to moderate weather activities for the upcoming days.

Weather Update: With the monsoon's retreat, humid heat has troubled common people in several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, for the past week. Meanwhile, severe rainfall is occurring in regions like Maharashtra and Goa. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch, with extremely heavy rainfall possible at some locations.

According to the update released by IMD on Sunday, a well-marked low-pressure area has formed over the Gulf of Khambhat. Under its influence, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in the coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch on September 29, and heavy rainfall in the Gujarat region, while very heavy rainfall is predicted for September 30. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in many places across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha from October 2.

What will the weather be like in Delhi today?

Humid heat troubled residents in Delhi-NCR last week. However, according to the Meteorological Department, partially cloudy skies are expected from September 30 to October 2. Light drizzle is possible on October 1. The maximum temperature is estimated to be between 33–37 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 24–26 degrees Celsius. This change is expected to bring some relief from the heat in the capital.

Weather conditions in Uttar Pradesh

Humid and hot conditions have persisted throughout September in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, b sunshine during the day and humidity at night are bothering people. According to the Meteorological Department, isolated rain and thundershowers may occur in Western and Eastern UP on September 30. Light rain is also possible in various parts of the state on October 2, but the likelihood of heavy rainfall is low. During this period, people may face b sunshine and humidity during the day.

Weather in Bihar and Jharkhand

After the monsoon's retreat, Bihar also experienced the effects of humidity and heat. Rain is likely in most parts of the state from October 1–4. Heavy rainfall may occur on October 4–5. Similar conditions are expected in Jharkhand, where rain with thunderstorms can be observed. West Bengal and Odisha are likely to see rain in many places from October 2.

In Himachal Pradesh, rain with thunderstorms is expected on October 4–5 due to the influence of a Western Disturbance. Temperatures in mountainous regions are predicted to be slightly above normal.

Weather conditions in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Goa

In Rajasthan, thunderstorms with gusty winds and drizzle are expected from September 30 to October 3. Temperatures in western districts may remain 3–5 degrees above normal. The weather is likely to change in other parts of the state with light rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall is already ongoing in Maharashtra and Goa. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the coming days:

From September 30 to October 4, light to moderate rain, with heavy rain at isolated places, is possible in Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra. Thundershowers may be observed in Marathwada and Vidarbha. IMD stated that due to the low-pressure area formed over the Gulf of Khambhat, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Saurashtra and Kutch.
