Muzaffarpur: A student was murdered by slitting her throat late at night in Bahbal Bazar, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar. Criminals broke the windowpane of the house and entered the rented accommodation to commit the crime. During this, the student's mother also sustained serious injuries. The deceased was preparing for competitive examinations. Police have intensified the investigation and an FSL team has also been called to the spot.
Student Murdered in Minapur
The incident that occurred late Monday night in Bahbal Bazar, under Minapur police station, has sent shockwaves across the entire area. Tannu Kumari, a resident of Madhuban police station area in Motihari district, was living with her mother in a rented house in Minapur and preparing for competitive examinations.
There was no activity in the house in the evening, but late at night, criminals broke the windowpane and entered the house. As soon as they entered, they immediately attacked the mother. Tannu, who tried to intervene, was attacked by the criminals with broken glass and her throat was slit, killing her. The student died on the spot, while her mother was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.
Grief Grips the Family
The deceased's brother, Rahul Kumar, stated that criminals attacked the mother and daughter as soon as they entered the house late at night. He added that the entire family is engulfed in grief over Tannu's death. Their father, Bharat Prasad, lives in Madhuban, while Rahul works in a private company.
The police reached the spot and began their investigation. An FSL team has also been summoned. Police stated that the motive behind the murder is not yet clear. Preliminary investigations are also considering the possibility of robbery. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being examined to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Hunt for Criminals Underway
Rural SP Rajesh Singh Prabhakar informed that the process of collecting technical and scientific evidence from the crime scene is ongoing. He assured that strict action will be taken against the criminals and the case will be solved soon, with the culprits brought to justice.
Police teams have increased patrolling in the area and intensified the search for suspects. Police also mentioned that clues are being gathered by contacting villagers and landlords.
