Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the opposition MPs, saying that when he himself went to jail in a false case, he resigned on the basis of morality. Bill to be Sent to JPC
Seeing the growing opposition to the bill, Amit Shah announced that the government proposes to send this bill to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). He said that detailed discussion and review of this bill is necessary so that there is no confusion of any kind.

Slogans continued to be raised in the Lok Sabha during this period. As soon as the process of introducing the bill started, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee started shouting slogans.
