Emmanuel Macron Sues Candace Owens Over Brigitte Macron Transgender Accusations, Plans to Present Evidence

After accusations that Brigitte Macron is transgender, President Emmanuel Macron has filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens in a Delaware court. Photos and scientific evidence will be presented in court to confirm her gender as female.

World News: The controversy surrounding France's President Emmanuel Macron's wife, Brigitte Macron, is deepening. American far-right influencer and political commentator Candace Owens has alleged that Brigitte is transgender and not a woman. This accusation has caused a stir in French politics and sparked debate in the media.

Following the accusations, Macron rejected them and filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens in a Delaware court in July. Now, Macron and his wife have decided that they will present evidence in court of Brigitte being a woman, which may include photos and scientific proof.

Origin of the Accusations

Accusations of Brigitte Macron being transgender first surfaced in 2021. French bloggers Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey initially claimed in a YouTube video that France's First Lady was not female by birth. In 2024, Macron won a defamation lawsuit filed against them, but the case reopened on appeal in 2025. Subsequently, American influencer Candace Owens took up the issue. Owens, who has over 6 million followers on Instagram, openly stated that Brigitte was male by birth and that she would stake her entire professional reputation to prove this allegation.

Macron Files Lawsuit

In this entire controversy, Emmanuel Macron has filed a defamation lawsuit against Candace Owens in a Delaware court. Macron's side stated that these allegations are completely baseless and are damaging his and his wife's reputation. The lawsuit plans to present evidence of Brigitte being a woman to refute the accusations.

Preparation to Present Evidence

Macron's lawyer, Tom Claire, stated that photos and scientific evidence will be presented in court. However, he did not clarify what type of evidence this would be. When asked if it would include photos of Brigitte's pregnancies and child-rearing, he affirmed that these photos exist and will be presented in court.
