Indore: In the Khajrana police station area, a Hindu woman has leveled serious allegations against three individuals for forced religious conversion. The woman claims that the accused, Baba Shahid Sheikh, Sahil Pathan, and Tabassum Bano, mentally harassed her and pressured her to adopt Islam. It is noteworthy that Tabassum Bano is the wife of suspended Ujjain Deputy Collector Mohammad Siraj.
Woman's Complaint to Authorities
In her complaint to the police, the woman stated that her husband left her a few years after their marriage. To support herself and her children, she started working in Indore. During this time, she became acquainted with Tabassum Bano. Tabassum introduced her to Baba Shahid Sheikh. The woman alleges that Baba Shahid Sheikh lured her with promises of solving her problems, first forcing her to drink amulets dissolved in water and later to consume ash. When the woman mentioned Hindu rituals, Baba Shahid Sheikh threatened her, saying that no medicine or amulet would work until she converted to Islam.
Allegations of Threats and Mental Harassment
The woman further alleged that Tabassum Bano repeatedly pressured her to convert. The accused even told her that if she adopted Islam, they would arrange her daughter's marriage to a Muslim man. The woman stated that upon her refusal, she and her children were threatened with defamation and death. Due to continuous mental pressure and threats, the woman is experiencing severe psychological distress.
