However, they later have to work together, making the arguments even more engaging.
The main message of the story is – 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan' (Hail the Soldier, Hail the Farmer), which underscores the importance of farmers and soldiers. The film effectively blends humor and satire with farmers' issues.
Acting
Regarding acting, Akshay Kumar appears with energy and confidence as Jolly Mishra. Arshad Warsi is, as always, effortless and natural. Seema Biswas brings emotional depth to the role of the farmer's widow, and her performance becomes the heart of the film. Saurabh Shukla, as Judge Tripathi, provides both balance and entertainment in the courtroom. Ram Kapoor, in the role of the lawyer, shows strength in every scene, and his presence sharpens the arguments.
Gajraj Rao is the film's biggest surprise package in the role of the corrupt businessman. His facial expressions and dialogue delivery are memorable for the audience. Shilpa Shukla also leaves an impression in a small but effective role. However, Amrita Rao and Huma Qureshi are included merely for their names; their characters lack depth and contribute little to the story.
Direction
Director Subhash Kapoor has tightly presented the courtroom drama with satire and humor. He maintained the synergy between Akshay and Arshad and sensitively incorporated farmers' issues. The camera work and dialogues make the audience feel part of the courtroom. However, excessive melodrama in emotional parts and weak music are the film's weaknesses. Nevertheless, the director succeeds in combining social message and entertainment.
Some scenes are over-dramatic, making it difficult to believe their realism. The roles of the female characters are weak, and the film's music also fails to meet expectations.
