A shocking incident has emerged from Kanpur, where the in-charge of Kidwai Nagar police post severely beat a student. The entire incident was captured on video, which is rapidly going viral on social media.
What Happened?
Student Akshay Pratap Singh was in the Kidwai Nagar area with his friend Abhishek Dubey, when police attempted to stop them on charges of overspeeding.
Akshay protested, stating that ‘there is no policy for assault’, upon hearing which police post in-charge Amit Vikram Tripathi became enraged. He then slapped, kicked, and shoved the student.
The student cried out in pain, but the police's demeanor intensified — threatening that he “would be set straight.”
How Was Action Taken?
As soon as the video of the incident went viral, DCP (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary took cognizance of the matter. The police post in-charge has been sent to the police lines.
The investigation of the case has been handed over to ACP Babupurwa.
