A woman in Shahdol has accused her former lover and three others of gang-raping her after forcing her off a bus. Police have registered a case and initiated a search for the accused. The victim had previously filed a rape case.

Shahdol: A shocking incident has come to light in the Beohari region of Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district. A woman has accused her former lover and his three associates of gang rape. The woman stated that the accused forced her off a bus and took her into the jungle, where they committed the act. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused.

Rape Case Against Former Lover

The woman, a resident of Sidhi district, was in a relationship with a man named Ramayan Kushwaha. In 2023, the couple had married in a temple in Jai Singh Nagar, but after some time, Ramayan refused to live with the woman. Following this, the woman had previously lodged a complaint with the police, and a rape case against Ramayan is currently pending in court at Jai Singh Nagar police station.

Due to this background, the police are treating the current case with extreme caution. Shahdol police stated that the investigation into the potential connection between both cases and the incidents is ongoing.

Woman Gang-Raped After Being Forced Off Bus

According to information received, the woman was returning home from court and was traveling by bus. Near the railway bridge on the Beohari-Shahdol road, Ramayan Kushwaha and his three associates—Billu, Jhallu, and Bhupendra—forced her off the bus. The accused then took her to a nearby jungle, where they gang-raped her and fled the scene.

The victim immediately reported the incident at the Beohari police station. Based on the woman's complaint, the police registered a case against all four accused and commenced a search for them.

Rape Case Registered Against Accused

Shahdol ASP Abhishek Diwan stated that a rape case has been registered against four individuals based on the woman's complaint. The police are actively searching for and attempting to arrest the accused. Furthermore, as this case is related to another rape case already pending in court, the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the evidence and circumstances.

Police have started the process of collecting CCTV footage from the surrounding area and taking statements from witnesses. Officials stated that legal action will be taken against the accused, considering all aspects.
