After the Dussehra holidays, a large number of patients suffering from fever, cold, and respiratory illnesses have flocked to the Sultanpur Medical College Hospital. Approximately 400 patients were treated in the OPD (Outpatient Department).
By afternoon, over 5,000 patients had registered at the hospital. Most patients exhibited symptoms of viral infection. In some cases, dengue, malaria, and typhoid were also suspected. Doctors attributed the surge in these cases primarily to changes in weather and pollution.
They suggested adopting the following precautions:
Wearing a mask when going outdoors
Avoiding cold and dusty places
Consuming fresh and warm food
Not staying for extended periods in closed rooms
Consulting a doctor if fever persists for more than five days
