Trump Claims Credit for India-Pakistan Ceasefire, India Rejects, Citing 'Operation Sindoor' and Own Military Action

Trump claimed a significant role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire and praised Sharif and Army Chief Munir. India rejected this. Operation Sindoor and Indian military action were decisive in establishing peace.

India-Pakistan Ceasefire: U.S. President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he played a significant role in facilitating the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. During this, Trump profusely praised Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir. However, India has completely rejected Trump's claim.

Why Trump Praised Them

Referring to a recent meeting, Trump stated that Sharif and Munir are very impressive individuals. He mentioned that Pakistan's Army Chief acknowledged Trump's crucial role in preventing war between India and Pakistan. Trump claimed that Munir also stated that Trump was the person who saved millions of lives by stopping the war.

Trump said, “Munir told everyone that if this war had happened, the consequences would have been dire. I have brought the same success to the Gaza peace plan.” Trump asserts that his efforts not only established peace in the region but also saved the lives of citizens in both countries.

India's Stance

However, India has rejected Trump's claim. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, following the May conflict, was reached through direct communication between the DGMOs of both countries. During this period, India targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK under 'Operation Sindoor'.

In May, the Indian Army also took action against Pakistani airbases. Satellite images clearly showed significant damage to Pakistani installations. India asserts that Trump's claim does not align with the actual sequence of events.

Operation Sindoor and India's Action

It is noteworthy that on April 22, terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam. The terrorists reportedly killed tourists after inquiring about their religion. In response, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK.

Subsequently, Pakistan attempted to target Indian military installations, which the Indian Army thwarted. In retaliatory action, Pakistani airbases suffered heavy damage. According to India, this sequence of events was decisive in ensuring peace on the India-Pakistan border.
