Two Flights Return to Origin Airports Due to Technical Issues

Flights from Delhi to Leh and Hyderabad to Tirupati returned due to technical malfunctions. Both flights landed safely, and no passengers were harmed.

Indigo Flight: An IndiGo flight, 6E 2006, departing from Delhi to Leh at 6:30 AM on Thursday, had to return mid-flight due to a technical malfunction. The pilot detected the problem when the aircraft approached Leh. After assessing the situation, prioritizing passenger and crew safety, the aircraft returned to Delhi. The plane landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport. There were 180 people on board, including the crew, all of whom were safely evacuated.

IndiGo's Statement

IndiGo Airlines issued a statement clarifying that this was not declared an emergency landing. The airline explained that following the technical malfunction, the aircraft was returned as a precautionary measure, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The airline apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and stated that an alternative aircraft was being arranged for Leh. The affected aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance to prevent similar situations in the future.

SpiceJet Flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati Also Returns

On the same day, another incident occurred when a SpiceJet Q400 flight, en route from Hyderabad to Tirupati, experienced a technical glitch shortly after takeoff. The pilot reported that the AFT baggage door light was intermittently malfunctioning, raising safety concerns. Taking this seriously, the pilot decided to return to Hyderabad.

Passengers Safely Evacuated

The aircraft landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad. All passengers were disembarked normally after landing. The airline clarified that this was not an emergency situation but a precautionary measure. Alternative arrangements are being made to transport passengers to their destination.

SpiceJet's Statement

SpiceJet issued a statement saying the flight's return was entirely due to safety concerns and was not an emergency landing. The airline also stated that an alternative flight has been arranged for passenger convenience and that all passengers will be transported to their destination as soon as possible.
