INDIA Bloc's B. Sudarshan Reddy Nominates for Vice President, Opposition Shows United Front

INDIA Bloc candidate B. Sudarshan Reddy files nomination for Vice President election. Several opposition leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Sharad Pawar were present. NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan had filed his nomination on the first day.

VP Candidate Nomination: Preparations for the Vice-Presidential election are in full swing. This time, the contest is becoming increasingly interesting. The opposition alliance, INDIA Bloc, has fielded B. Sudarshan Reddy as its candidate. He officially filed his nomination on Wednesday. The unity of the opposition parties was clearly visible on this occasion.

Major Opposition Leaders Present at Nomination

During the nomination of B. Sudarshan Reddy, prominent leaders of the INDIA Bloc were present, including former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, and Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay Raut.

All the leaders gathered at 11 am in the chamber of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. After this, they collectively reached the office of Rajya Sabha Secretary General and Returning Officer for this election, P.C. Modi, and filed the nomination.

NDA candidate had filed the papers a day earlier

Earlier, C.P. Radhakrishnan had filed his nomination on Tuesday on behalf of the NDA. Thus, now candidates from both sides are in the fray, and the contest is heading towards becoming interesting. Although the NDA's position is considered b in the numbers game, the opposition has also prepared to make the contest tough.

Nomination filed in four sets

According to sources, B. Sudarshan Reddy filed his nomination in four sets. Each set included 20 proposers and 20 supporters. Before filing the nomination, Sudarshan Reddy paid tribute to freedom fighters and great leaders.

South vs. South Election

This time, the Vice-Presidential election is presenting a "South vs. South" picture. Both the NDA and the opposition have fielded candidates from South India. Political analysts say that this contest will be important not only on the basis of numbers but also in terms of political message and regional representation.

Focus on Opposition's Strategy

Even though the opposition alliance INDIA Bloc is behind in the numbers game, it is leaving no stone unturned to make the contest interesting. The unity displayed during the filing of nomination clearly shows that the opposition is not considering this election merely a formality but wants to send a political message. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh shared the complete information about the nomination on social media platform X. He wrote that it is a symbol of opposition unity and the strengthening of democracy.

Sonia Gandhi and Kharge's Activism

The presence of Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge during the nomination indicated that Congress is fully active in this election. Kharge said that even though the opposition may appear weak in numbers, this election is a symbol of protecting democratic values.
