The election countdown in Bihar has begun, and the Election Commission is expected to announce the dates at any moment. Consequently, all political parties are diligently engaged in their preparations, and the exchange of b statements has also escalated.
Giriraj Singh's Attack on Rahul Gandhi
Speaking to reporters, Giriraj Singh stated that when leaders like Rahul Gandhi behave in an ‘urban naxal’ manner, it is natural for other members of the Congress party to adopt a similar stance. He further added that Congress leaders have consistently prioritized votes and party interests over national interests.
Referring to former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's statement, Giriraj Singh remarked, “Mr. Chidambaram stated that the Manmohan Singh government was weak. This revelation came very late; 'Huzoor, you've delayed your arrival.' At that time, the government lacked the political will because Congress viewed Pakistan as a tool for vote bank politics.
BJP's Reaction to Chidambaram's Statement
Giriraj Singh stated, “I fail to understand whether the nation is paramount, or the party, or votes. The Manmohan Singh government was not a minority government, yet its political will was weak. Had Narendra Modi been the Prime Minister then, perhaps an operation akin to 'Operation Sindoor' would have already been executed, and we would not be waiting today for effective action against Pakistan.
He also claimed that Congress has consistently engaged in vote-bank politics at the expense of national interests, which is why their governments often fail to take strategic and decisive steps. Political analysts suggest that such rhetoric from central leaders ahead of the Bihar elections is a common strategic maneuver. Giriraj Singh's attack was primarily focused on criticizing Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, aiming to boost his party's visibility and engagement in media and public relations.
As elections draw nearer, leaders attempt to capture voters' attention by launching attacks on their opponents. In Bihar, the primary contest between the BJP and Congress is expected to continue. The BJP's current stance clearly indicates its focus on portraying the opposition as weak while strengthening its own electoral preparations.
