According to sources, the deceased, Vijay Kumar Singh, was employed in the Control Office of the Operations Department at the Sonepur Railway Division office. He was returning to Patna after duty when this unfortunate incident occurred. Upon learning of the incident, railway administration and local residents immediately reached the spot. Officials sent the body for post-mortem. The deceased was 43 years old and resided in Anand Dwarika Heritage Apartment, Anisabad, Patna.

The Darbhanga Festival Special was delayed by 7.46 hours, and the Vaishali Express by 1.49 hours. The Lucknow-Kolkata Special train also arrived 6.12 hours late.
