Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra's birthday was celebrated with great pomp on October 1st at the Congress War Room. On this occasion, senior party leaders, MLAs, former ministers, MPs, and thousands of workers were present. The event was also seen as a show of strength, with over 20,000 people participating.
Large Presence of Leaders and Workers at the Birthday Celebration
On the occasion of Govind Singh Dotasra's birthday, 33 MLAs, 14 former ministers, 6 MPs, 5 national leaders, 25 former MLAs, and 22 assembly candidates arrived at the Congress War Room. Former Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi also personally extended his birthday wishes. A grand stage was set up at the main office of the State Congress, and a blood donation camp was organized by Satveer Aloria, National Secretary of the Youth Congress.
Dotasra commenced his birthday celebration by cutting a cake at the Congress War Room and addressed the attendees. On this occasion, he targeted the BJP government, stating that no work gets done in the state without "parchi" (slips or tokens of influence/bribes), and corruption is rampant. He explained that for any task, one first has to give a bribe to get a "parchi," and sometimes, to get a file passed, one has to get "parchis" cut three times. Dotasra clarified that the biggest "parchi" belongs to the RSS, and decisions in the government are being driven by Sangh officials.
Govind Singh Dotasra: Senior Leadership in State Congress
Govind Singh Dotasra is counted among the senior and aggressive leaders of Rajasthan Congress. In July 2020, when Sachin Pilot was removed from the post of State Congress President, Dotasra was appointed as the State President. Since then, he has provided b leadership to the party, keeping the organization active at both assembly and Lok Sabha levels.
