New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the volunteers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the completion of its 100 years. In his message, he described the Sangh as a sacred embodiment of eternal national consciousness. Modi wrote that the establishment of the Sangh 100 years ago on the auspicious festival of Vijayadashami was a re-establishment of that tradition in which national consciousness has manifested itself in new avatars from time to time. PM Modi stated that it is a privilege for the volunteers of their generation to witness the grand occasion of the Sangh's centenary year, and he extended best wishes to the millions of volunteers dedicated to the resolution of national service.

Establishment of the Sangh

In the article, PM Modi mentioned the formation of the Sangh and its objectives. He wrote that the Sangh began its work with the grand objective of nation-building and prioritized individual development for this purpose. The 'Shakha' (daily branch meeting) ground is a place of inspiration for volunteers, where individual development begins. Shakhas are the altars of 'yagya' (sacred fire ritual) for individual formation and show the path to nation-building. Over 100 years, the Sangh has trained millions of volunteers who are now serving the country in various fields.

The Sangh and the Nation's Priority

PM Modi stated that ever since the Sangh came into existence, the nation has always been its foremost priority. During the freedom struggle, many volunteers, including Dr. Hedgewar, joined the movement. Even after independence, the Sangh continued to be engaged in national service. Several attempts were made against the Sangh, but the volunteers did not show bitterness and instead adopted the path of remaining connected with society.

Awareness in Society

Modi wrote that the Sangh has awakened self-awareness and self-respect among different sections of society. The Sangh also works in remote areas, preserving tribal traditions and values. Eminent figures of the Sangh fought against discrimination and untouchability. From Dr. Hedgewar to the current Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, the Sangh has promoted harmony and equality in society.

The Sangh's 100-Year Journey

PM Modi stated that over a hundred years, the Sangh has faced the changing needs and challenges of the country. Through 'Panch Parivartan' (Five Transformations), the Sangh has prepared new roadmaps, which include 'Swa-bodh' (self-awareness), 'Samajik Samrasata' (social harmony), 'Kutumb Prabodhan' (family awakening), 'Nagarik Shishtachar' (civic etiquette), and 'Paryavaran' (environment). The objective of Swa-bodh is to foster pride in the nation's heritage and promote indigenous practices. Samajik Samrasata is the path to encourage the marginalized and establish social justice.

PM Modi wrote that through Kutumb Prabodhan, families and values can be strengthened. Nagarik Shishtachar will instill a sense of duty and responsibility in every citizen. Through environmental protection, a safe future can be ensured for coming generations. With all these resolutions, the Sangh is embarking on its journey for the next century.
