Noida Traffic Police Announce Extensive Diversions & Restrictions for Dussehra, Navratri on Oct 1-2

Noida Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions on vehicle movement around the Stadium, Ramlila Maidan, and Maharshi Ashram on October 1 and 2, in view of Dussehra and Navratri. Medical vehicles will be exempt.

Noida: In view of the Dussehra festival and Durga idol immersion, Noida Traffic Police has implemented a special traffic management plan. On October 1 and 2, traffic will be restricted on several main roads of the city due to Ramlila, Ravan Dahan (burning of Ravan effigy), and idol immersion. The police have appealed to people to use alternative routes and start their journeys in advance to avoid traffic congestion.

Traffic Closed During Ramlila at Stadium Sector-21A 

In view of the Ramlila and Ravan Dahan events organized at Noida Stadium Sector-21A, Sector-62, and Maharshi Ashram, the Traffic Police has shared detailed information about route diversions. As per the order, vehicle movement will be completely closed on several routes from 2 PM on October 1 until the conclusion of the events on October 2. Only medical emergency vehicles and fire services will be exempted on these routes.

Several routes will remain closed, including from Sector-12/22/56 to Stadium Chowk, from Sector-10/21 U-turn towards the Stadium, and the route from Modi Mall Chowk to Stadium Chowk. Similarly, traffic will be restricted from Metro Hospital Chowk to Reliance Chowk and from Coast Guard Tiraha to NTPC Underpass. This arrangement has been implemented for public safety and crowd control.

Alternative Routes for Traffic

The police have also released alternative routes to prevent inconvenience to the general public. Vehicles going from Rajnigandha Chowk towards the Stadium will be diverted from Sector-10/21 U-turn via Nithari and Gizhor to their destination. Meanwhile, traffic going from Sector-12/22/56 towards Rajnigandha Chowk has been advised to take the route via Metro Hospital Chowk and Haraula/Jhundpura.

Similarly, vehicles proceeding from DM Chowk and Jalvayu Vihar Chowk towards Modi Mall Chowk and Reliance Chowk will be diverted towards Nithari and NTPC routes. Officials state that police forces have been deployed to control traffic, and people are appealed not to proceed unnecessarily towards closed routes.

Traffic Management During Idol Immersion

On October 2, from 9 AM, idol immersion ceremonies will take place at various ghats along the Yamuna and Hindon rivers. During this period, vehicles proceeding from the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway towards Kalindi Border will be diverted towards Dalit Prerna Sthal. Additionally, traffic going from Sector-37 to Kalindi Border will be diverted from Mahamaya Flyover.

Separate diversions have also been created for vehicles going from Surajpur, Phase-2, and Kisan Chowk. Changes have also been made to the routes leading towards Parthala and Sorkha. The police state that due to heavy crowds, only essential vehicles will be allowed to proceed towards the ghats.

Police Appeal and Arrangements for the Public

The Traffic Police has stated that public safety is paramount during events like Dussehra and idol immersion. Therefore, citizens are advised to follow traffic diversions and contact helpline number 9971009001 for any information.

Furthermore, all weekly markets held on the event routes have been instructed to remain closed. The police believe that these precautionary measures will cause minimal inconvenience to people and ensure the festivals conclude in a peaceful and safe environment.
