New Delhi: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made a significant statement aimed at further deepening cooperation with Germany. He stated that Maharashtra and Germany can jointly create new possibilities in areas such as green energy, education, culture, and startups. Pawar stressed the establishment of a Joint Standing Committee to foster a long-term and effective partnership between both sides.
Meeting with German Delegation
On Wednesday, a delegation led by Germany's Consul General Christoph Hollier paid a courtesy call to Ajit Pawar at the Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. The Deputy Consul General was also part of this meeting. During the interaction, Maharashtra-Germany cooperation projects were reviewed, and several important issues were discussed.
The meeting involved in-depth discussions on topics related to the Maharashtra-Baden-Württemberg partnership, skill migration, vocational training, research and development, higher education, and cultural exchange.
Cooperation on Green Energy and Smart City
Ajit Pawar clarified that Maharashtra is placing a major focus on Green Energy, Sustainable Mobility, and Smart Cities in the coming years. He stated that Germany is a developed and b country in these sectors, and Maharashtra can learn from its experience to move towards a better future. Pawar also emphasized the need to enhance cooperation in research, startup ecosystems, and technological development.
Full Support for Investors
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the Maharashtra government would provide all possible assistance to German entrepreneurs investing in the state. He stated that the state government is fully prepared to overcome any challenges foreign investors might face. Pawar added that Maharashtra is already the country's leading investment destination, and the government is working to make it even more attractive.
Special Focus on Youth and Students
Ajit Pawar also stated in the meeting that more employment opportunities should be created in Germany for the youth of Maharashtra. He further highlighted that a large number of Indian students are pursuing education in Germany but face various problems. Pawar urged both countries to take concrete steps together to address these issues faced by students.
