Serious Allegations Against Jawan in Khunti
The jawan, from Meral village in Khunti's Murhu police station area, is accused of attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl from Mahil village while intoxicated. When the girl screamed, the accused fled. Locals then caught him, tied him to a tree, and handed him over to the police.
Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo stated that the jawan was taken into custody at the police station. A preliminary investigation is being conducted to ascertain the full truth of the incident involving the minor. Police also said that the accused's mental state and behavior during the incident would be studied.
Jawan Commits Suicide at Khunti Police Station
SP Manish Toppo reported that on Tuesday morning, the accused told a constable at the police station that he wanted to use the toilet. When he did not emerge for a long time, the constable opened the door and found the accused hanging. The preliminary investigation found no evidence of any assault within the police station premises.
Station in-charge Ramdev Yadav was suspended on charges of negligence. The body of the deceased jawan has been sent for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital in Khunti. Police and administration are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter to ensure that there was no lapse in custody.
Teenage Murder in Jamshedpur
Another serious incident occurred in Jamshedpur, where a teenager was murdered by his friend under the Golmuri police station area of Gadabasa. Police stated that Sandeep Kumar killed Ajay Basa with a sharp weapon after an altercation on Monday night.
