A speeding Ertiga car crashed into a stationary truck from behind on the Titawi bypass in Muzaffarnagar, killing six people—including two women. All of them were on their way from Karnal to Haridwar for the immersion of ashes in the Ganges.

Muzaffarnagar: Six people died and one person was seriously injured in a horrific road accident on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred near the Jaidev Hotel on the Titawi bypass when people from Karnal were en route to Haridwar to immerse ashes in the Ganges. A speeding Ertiga car collided from behind with a stationary truck, leading to this tragic incident.

Six Killed in High-Speed Car Crash

According to police and local residents, the accident happened in the early morning hours. The car was traveling at such a high speed that the driver failed to spot the stationary truck and the car went directly underneath it. The collision was so severe that the car was completely wrecked, and six people died on the spot. Among the deceased were three men and three women.

Following the accident, police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations. With the help of a JCB, local residents separated the car from the truck and extricated the bodies. The critically injured person was admitted to a nearby hospital. The visuals of the accident and the grimness of the site shook the entire area.

Accident of Family En Route for Ganges Immersion

According to information, the deceased were residents of Karnal and were on their way to immerse their family's ashes in the Ganges. This accident spread grief among their relatives and the entire region. As soon as news of the accident broke, family members rushed to the scene, leading to an uproar.

Local residents report that heavy vehicles are often parked on the Titawi bypass, which poses a constant risk of accidents on the road. People are demanding that the administration take strict action against vehicles parked on this route to prevent such incidents in the future.

Police and Administration Action

Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident. Fugana Circle Officer Rupali Rao stated that the injured person's condition is serious and they have been admitted to a safe hospital. Police are also investigating whether driver negligence or overspeeding was the main cause of the accident.

The local administration has announced plans to enhance road safety measures and assess the situation of parked vehicles. Police utilized JCBs and other resources for rescue operations and to remove bodies from the accident site.
