Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred Rs 10,000 to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women as the first installment of the Women Employment Scheme. He appealed to women for active participation in the upcoming elections and highlighted the scheme's importance.
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred the first installment of Rs 10,000 to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women under the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' (Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme). On this occasion, he urged women to pay attention to the upcoming elections and participate actively. The Chief Minister stated that a total of 1 crore women in the state would benefit from this scheme.
First Installment of the Scheme
Nitish Kumar directly transferred the first installment of the scheme to the bank accounts of 25 lakh women beneficiaries. On this occasion, he interacted with women and stated that several development works are progressing rapidly in Bihar with the cooperation of the central government. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to extend the benefits of this scheme to every family in the state.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme would strengthen the economic condition of women, providing them with employment and financial assistance. He also clarified that the remaining beneficiaries would receive the amount every week under the scheme, ensuring a large number of women benefit.
Appeal for Special Attention to Elections
In his address, Nitish Kumar told women, ‘‘Elections are approaching; please pay attention.’’ He sought to convey that active participation in the electoral process is crucial. The Chief Minister stated that women possess the power to bring about change in society, and their voting and awareness can influence the political process.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also took a dig at the RJD rule, stating that earlier, there was no rule of law in the state, and development work was slow. He said that the current government has improved law and order and developmental activities, and the Women Employment Scheme is an example of this.
Background of the Scheme
The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana was launched on September 26 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the initial installment of the scheme, 75 lakh women received the amount. Now, an additional 25 lakh women have been provided with the amount.
Nitish Kumar informed that a total of 1 crore women would benefit from this scheme. The remaining beneficiaries will receive the amount starting October 6, and distribution will continue weekly thereafter. This scheme is considered crucial for making women self-reliant (women empowerment) and for employment generation.
