Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and former minister, who often remains in the headlines due to his statements in Bihar politics, recently issued a clarification on the 'I Love Mohammed' controversy. He explicitly stated that he possesses a copy of the Holy Quran and holds immense respect for the Prophet. Tej Pratap alleged that some individuals are deliberately trying to create controversy to spread hatred and tension in society.
Appeal to Promote Religion and Harmony
In his statement, Tej Pratap Yadav sought to promote religious harmony. He said, "My perspective has always been one of equal respect for all religions." His statement serves as a clear message to those who wish to sow division and conflict in society.
He further added that maintaining a spirit of tolerance and brotherhood in society is extremely essential. He believes that insulting any religion or faith is not only detrimental to society but also against democratic values.
Statement on Tejashwi Yadav
Tej Pratap spoke openly about his relationship with his younger brother and RJD supremo, Tejashwi Yadav. He stated that as a younger brother, Tejashwi should accord him the same respect that Lord Ram gave to Lakshman. Tej Pratap also emphasized that upholding dignity is crucial in brotherhood, and one should not take wrong steps by being misled by others.
He also targeted some associates, labeling them 'Jaichand'. Tej Pratap's statement is considered significant from both political and familial perspectives.
Announcement to Contest Elections from Mahua Seat
Tej Pratap clarified that he would contest the upcoming assembly elections from the Mahua seat. This is the same constituency from which he began his political career in 2015. The Mahua assembly constituency borders Tejashwi Yadav's Raghopur seat, so all eyes will be on the political strategies of both brothers in the upcoming elections.
Experts believe that a clash between Tej Pratap and Tejashwi over the Mahua and Raghopur seats could influence the political direction of the upcoming elections.
